Product Specific Information

The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as confirmed by SDS-PAGE.

Target Information

Rabphilin-3A (RPH3A) contains two C2 domains (A and B) at the carboxy-terminal and a cysteine-rich region with two zinc finger motifs at the amino-terminal (residues 45–170). It belongs to the C-type tandem C2 protein family, including synaptotagmins and Doc2. Rabphilin-3A is expressed in neuroendocrine cells and co-localizes with Rab3A on synaptic vesicles and chromaffin granules. It binds Rab3a/GTP/Mg²⁺ within residues 45–170 and interacts with calcium ions and phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate-containing lipid vesicles through its C2 domains. Rabphilin-3A acts as a positive regulator of calcium-dependent exocytosis, while Rab3A serves as a negative regulator. Despite their association, they influence exocytosis independently, likely through interactions with an unidentified factor recognizing the Rab3 binding domain.
