Product Specific Information
PA1-9524 detects GDNF in human, mouse, and rat samples.
It has been successfully used in Western blot, ELISA, and Immunohistochemistry procedures.
By Western blot, PA1-9524 detects a 24 kDa protein representing GDNF.
The immunogen is a synthetic peptide based on the human GDNF protein.
Store at 4°C for up to one week, and -20°C for long-term storage.
Target Information
GDNF (Glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor) is a glycosylated, disulfide-bonded homodimer molecule.
It was first discovered as a potent survival factor for midbrain dopaminergic neurons and shown to rescue these neurons in animal models of Parkinson’s disease.
GDNF is about 100 times more efficient as a survival factor for spinal motor neurons than neurotrophins.
It enhances survival and morphological differentiation of dopaminergic neurons and increases their high-affinity dopamine uptake.
