Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by epitope-specific antigen affinity chromatography. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
The ERKs are a subfamily of the MAPKs involved in cell growth and differentiation. Extracellular signal-regulated kinase 8 (Erk8) is a large MAP kinase regulated by serum and the c-Src non-receptor tyrosine kinase. ERK8 down-regulates glucocorticoid receptor transactivation through Hic-5 and can negatively regulate transcriptional co-activation of androgen receptor and GRα in a kinase-independent manner, suggesting a broader role in nuclear receptor regulation. Erk8 is also a novel effector of RET/PTC3, contributing to RET biological functions.
