Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
The six-transmembrane epithelial antigen of prostate 2 (STEAP2) is a member of a family of metalloreductases identified as cell-surface antigens in prostate tissue. Similar to STEAP3 and STEAP4, STEAP2 promotes both iron and copper reduction. Expression in transfected cells correlates with iron or copper uptake, suggesting that STEAP family proteins may stimulate metal ion uptake. STEAP2 is widely expressed in many tissues, most highly in prostate, and at least three isoforms are known to exist.
