Target Information
CXCL12 (SDF-1) is a stromal cell-derived alpha chemokine belonging to the intercrine family. It interacts with the CXCR4 receptor to activate lymphocytes and has been implicated in cancer metastasis, including breast cancer. Mutations in this gene are linked to resistance to HIV-1 infection. Multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified.
