Replication protein A (RPA) is a single-stranded DNA binding protein. Human RPA is a heterotrimeric protein composed of 70, 32, and 14 kDa subunits. This complex is highly conserved among eukaryotes and plays essential roles in DNA replication, homologous recombination, and nucleotide excision repair. RPA is known to be a target for DNA-dependent protein kinase (DNA-PK), ATM, and cyclin-dependent kinases.
