SERPINB5 (Maspin) is a tumor suppressor protein that inhibits the growth, invasion, and metastatic potential of mammary tumors. Unlike active serpins, it does not undergo the stressed-to-relaxed conformational transition and lacks serine protease inhibitory activity.
