Ephrin A4 (also known as LERK-4 or ELF-4) binds to EphA2, EphA3, EphA4, EphA5, EphA6, EphA7, and EphB1.
At least 14 members of the Eph receptor family and 8 ligands have been identified.
Ephrin ligands are membrane-bound proteins divided into two subclasses:
- Ephrin-A subclass: Membrane-associated via glycosylphosphatidylinositol linkages (e.g., ephrin-A1/B61)
- Ephrin-B subclass: Ligands with transmembrane domains
