Target Information
Isocitrate dehydrogenases (IDH) catalyze the oxidative decarboxylation of isocitrate to 2-oxoglutarate. These enzymes are divided into subclasses utilizing either NAD(+) or NADP(+) as electron acceptors.
There are five known isocitrate dehydrogenases: three NAD(+)-dependent forms located in the mitochondrial matrix, and two NADP(+)-dependent forms, one mitochondrial and one cytosolic.
The cytosolic NADP(+)-dependent isozyme (encoded by IDH1) also localizes to peroxisomes and contains a PTS-1 peroxisomal targeting signal. It plays a key role in generating NADPH for peroxisomal and cytoplasmic reactions, including the reduction of 2,4-dienoyl-CoAs and the hydroxylation of phytanic acid.
This antibody specifically recognizes the IDH1 mutant R132H.
