Target Information
Isocitrate dehydrogenases such as IDH1 catalyze the oxidative decarboxylation of isocitrate to 2-oxoglutarate. These enzymes belong to two distinct subclasses: one utilizes NAD(+) and the other NADP(+) as electron acceptors. Five isocitrate dehydrogenases have been reported—three NAD(+)-dependent enzymes localized to the mitochondrial matrix, and two NADP(+)-dependent enzymes, one mitochondrial and one cytosolic.
The NADP(+)-dependent cytosolic isozyme encoded by IDH1 contains a PTS-1 peroxisomal targeting signal sequence and plays roles in NADPH regeneration for peroxisomal reductions and cytoplasmic NADPH production.
This antibody specifically recognizes the IDH1 mutant R132H protein.
