M2MCP1I targets MCP-1 in ELISA applications and shows reactivity with human samples.
The immunogen used is recombinant human MCP-1.
This antibody detects MCP-1, which has a predicted molecular weight of approximately 9 kDa.
Tested for endotoxins using the LAL assay, with endotoxin concentration ≤10 EU/mg.
Target Information
The MCP-1 gene is part of a cytokine cluster on chromosome 17q. Cytokines are secreted proteins involved in immune regulation and inflammation.
MCP-1 belongs to the CXC subfamily, characterized by two cysteines separated by one amino acid.
This cytokine is chemotactic for monocytes and basophils, but not for neutrophils or eosinophils.
It is associated with diseases involving monocytic infiltration, such as psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, and atherosclerosis.
MCP-1 binds to chemokine receptors CCR2 and CCR4.
