Product Specific Information

The eBioGHI/61 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD163 (Haemoglobin Scavenger Receptor, M130), a macrophage scavenger receptor family member. CD163 is expressed by tissue macrophages, circulating blood monocytes, and may also be expressed by hematopoietic progenitor cells. It functions as a high-affinity scavenger receptor for the hemoglobin–haptoglobin complex, clearing hemoglobin from the blood. Upon ligand binding, CD163 initiates signaling leading to IL-6 and IL-10 production.

Super Bright 600 is a tandem dye sensitive to photo-induced oxidation; protect from light.
When using multiple Super Bright dyes, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) to minimize non-specific interactions.

Fixation: Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark.

Target Information

CD163 (M130 antigen, Ber-Mac3, Ki-M8, SM4) is a 130 kDa membrane glycoprotein, member of the scavenger receptor cysteine-rich superfamily, and receptor for the hemoglobin–haptoglobin complex. It protects tissues from oxidative damage and may be involved in iron recycling. CD163 is expressed on monocytes and macrophages, upregulated by IL-10, IL-6, and dexamethasone, and shed by LPS or PMA stimulation.
