Target Information
NFKBID may regulate the expression of IL-2, IL-6, and other cytokines through modulation of NF-kappa-B activity. It plays a role in the regulation of inflammatory responses and may control TCR-induced negative selection of thymocytes.
I-kappa-BNS, encoded by Nfkbid, is essential for the development of marginal zone and peritoneal B-1 B cells and for extrafollicular antibody responses to T-independent and T-dependent immunogens.
I-kappa-BNS functions as a member of the I-kappa-B family of NF-kappa-B inhibitors, induced upon TCR signaling, and mediates both positive and negative gene regulation depending on cell type and cytokine context.
