Product Specific Information

The monoclonal rat IgG1 kappa is useful as an isotype control immunoglobulin.

• Applications Reported: Suitable for flow cytometric analysis.
• Applications Tested: Tested on normal human peripheral blood and mouse splenocytes. Use at the same concentration as the experimental antibody.
• Fluorochrome Information: Brilliant Violet™ 786 (BV786) emits at 786 nm and is optimized for cytometers equipped with a violet (405 nm) laser.
• Buffer Recommendation: When using multiple polymer dye-conjugated antibodies, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401-42) or Brilliant Stain Buffer™ (Product # 00-4409-75) to minimize non-specific polymer interactions.
• Light Sensitivity: Protect vial and stained samples from light due to photo-induced oxidation.
• Fixation Compatibility: Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333-54) up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark. BV786 is not compatible with methanol-based fixation.
• Excitation/Emission/Laser: 407 nm / 786 nm / Violet Laser.

Target Information

Rat IgG1 is a subclass of IgG antibodies produced by rats in response to antigens. Commonly used as a negative control in experiments, as it does not bind to many mammalian antigens. Utilized in immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, and western blotting to detect specific antigens. Rat IgG1 also plays a role in gene targeting studies for disease model generation.
