For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL (Product #89882).

Target Information

The CD40 antigen is a single-chain glycoprotein belonging to the tumor necrosis factor/nerve growth factor superfamily.
It shows significant homology to CD30 and is expressed on all B cells except plasma cells, as well as on epithelial cells, carcinomas, and lymphoid dendritic cells.
CD40 plays a critical role in:

• T cell-dependent immunoglobulin class switching
• Memory B cell development
• Germinal center formation

The AKNA transcription factor regulates CD40 expression, influencing cell interactions.
TNFR2 adaptor protein mediates CD40 signal transduction.
Interaction between CD40 and its ligand is essential for amyloid-beta-induced microglial activation, implicated in early Alzheimer’s disease pathogenesis.
Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.
