Clone M017 detects a 35 kDa protein corresponding to the molecular mass of Annexin A5 on SDS-PAGE immunoblots of human A431, MDA-MB-231, MeWo, and PC3 cells, as well as human skin, breast, lung, and brain.
The antibody is suitable for ELISA, Western blot, and Immunoprecipitation.
Mass spectrometry analysis of immunoprecipitates using AM0171 in human MDA-MB-231 cell lysates confirms that this antibody specifically detects Annexin A5 protein.

Target Information

Annexin A5 belongs to the annexin family of calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding proteins, some of which are involved in membrane-related events along exocytotic and endocytotic pathways.
Annexin 5 acts as a phospholipase A2 and protein kinase C inhibitory protein with calcium channel activity and plays roles in cellular signal transduction, inflammation, growth, and differentiation.
It is also known as placental anticoagulant protein I, vascular anticoagulant-alpha, endonexin II, lipocortin V, placental protein 4, and anchorin CII.
The gene spans 29 kb with 13 exons, encoding a single transcript of approximately 1.6 kb and a protein product of about 35 kDa.
