Target Information
Caspases are cysteine proteases expressed as inactive precursors that mediate apoptosis by proteolysis of specific substrates. Initiator caspases (e.g., Caspase-8, Caspase-9) are activated by receptor clustering and then activate effector caspases (e.g., Caspase-3, Caspase-7), leading to cellular collapse.
