Anaplastic Lymphoma Receptor Tyrosine Kinase (ALK)는 인슐린 수용체 초가족에 속하며, 뇌 발달에 중요한 역할을 합니다. ALK 유전자의 돌연변이, 재배열, 증폭은 다양한 종양(예: anaplastic large cell lymphoma, neuroblastoma, non-small cell lung cancer)에서 발견됩니다.
염색체 재배열은 가장 흔한 유전적 변이로, ALK 유전자의 3’ 말단(2번 염색체 유래)과 NPM 유전자의 5’ 부분(5번 염색체 유래)이 융합된 NPM-ALK 융합 유전자를 형성합니다.
이 융합 단백질은 종양 유발성(oncogenic)으로 알려져 있으며, ALK는 LTK와 높은 서열 유사성을 보입니다. ALK는 뇌 발달 및 신경계 특정 뉴런의 기능 조절에 관여합니다.
