Target Information
TIP47 (Perilipin-3) is a cargo protein involved in trafficking of mannose-6-phosphate receptors between endosomes and the Golgi complex. It interacts with cytoplasmic domains of both cation-independent and cation-dependent MPRs, facilitating endosome-to-Golgi transport.
This protein binds directly to GTPase RAB9, enhancing its affinity for cargo. TIP47 has been localized in milk fat globule membranes of human and bovine origin and described as a placental protein. Elevated levels are found in cervix carcinoma patients, suggesting its potential as an oncodevelopmental marker.
