Target Information
Vinculin (VCL)은 세포 간 및 세포-세포외 기질 부착연접(adherens junction)에 관련된 세포골격 단백질입니다. 이 단백질은 F-actin을 세포막에 고정시키는 여러 상호작용 단백질 중 하나로 작용합니다.
부착판(adhesion plaque)의 형성 과정에서 integrin의 β 서브유닛은 talin에 결합하고, talin은 vinculin에 결합하여 α-actinin과 상호작용합니다. α-actinin이 actin 필라멘트를 교차결합하므로, vinculin은 세포외 기질과 세포질 미세필라멘트 시스템을 연결하는 핵심 요소로 작용합니다.
VCL 유전자의 변이는 확장성 심근병증(dilated cardiomyopathy 1W) 또는 가족성 비대성 심근병증(familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy 15)과 관련이 있습니다.
