Target Information
ITPKA regulates inositol phosphate metabolism by phosphorylating inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate (Ins(1,4,5)P3) to Ins(1,3,4,5)P4. This activity influences levels of various inositol polyphosphates involved in cellular signaling. Its activity is controlled by calcium/calmodulin and protein phosphorylation mechanisms. It is also a substrate for cyclic AMP-dependent protein kinase, calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II, and protein kinase C in vitro.
