Target Information
NEIL2 단백질은 산화나 돌연변이 유발 인자에 의해 손상된 DNA의 염기 절제 복구(base excision repair)에 관여합니다.
5-hydroxyuracil 및 산화된 cytosine 유도체에 대한 DNA glycosylase 활성을 가지며, mismatched double-stranded DNA(DNA bubbles)에 대해 높은 친화성을 보입니다.
Thymine glycol, 2-hydroxyadenine, hypoxanthine, 8-oxoguanine에 대해서는 낮거나 거의 활성이 없습니다.
AP(아퓨리닉/아피리미딘) lyase 활성을 가지며, 제거된 염기 부위에서 β-δ elimination을 통해 단일 가닥 절단을 유도합니다.
