Target Information
Placental Alkaline Phosphatase (PLAP)는 특정 염증성 질환 조절에 중요한 역할을 하는 효소입니다. 이 효소에는 intestinal, placental, placental-like, liver/bone/kidney 등 네 가지 주요 형태가 존재합니다. PLAP는 임신 3기 동안 태반에서 발현되는 막 결합형 isoenzyme(Regan 및 Nagao type)과 반응합니다.
PLAP는 고환 생식세포 종양의 식별에 유용하며, PLAP 양성 체세포 종양은 일관되게 epithelial membrane antigen (EMA)을 발현합니다.
이 효소의 기능으로는 기질 무기화(matrix mineralization)가 제안되었으나, 기능적 효소가 결핍된 생쥐에서도 정상적인 골격 발달이 관찰됩니다. PLAP는 고인산분해효소증(hypophosphatasia)과 직접적으로 연관되어 있으며, 이는 고칼슘혈증과 골격 이상을 특징으로 합니다. 해당 질환의 발현은 관련 돌연변이에 따라 다양하게 나타납니다.
