Target Information
Ribosomes are organelles that catalyze protein synthesis, consisting of a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit. These subunits are composed of four RNA species and approximately 80 distinct proteins.
RPL13 is a ribosomal protein component of the 60S subunit and belongs to the L13E family. It is localized in the cytoplasm and expressed at higher levels in benign breast lesions than in breast carcinomas.
Transcript variants from alternative splicing or polyadenylation encode the same protein, and multiple processed pseudogenes are dispersed throughout the genome.
