Target Information
The CCL27 gene is part of the CC cytokine family located on the p-arm of chromosome 9. Cytokines are secreted proteins involved in immunoregulation and inflammation.
CCL27 is chemotactic for skin-associated memory T lymphocytes and may mediate homing of lymphocytes to cutaneous sites. It specifically binds to chemokine receptor 10 (CCR10).
Studies on murine homologs suggest that these interactions play a crucial role in T cell-mediated skin inflammation.
