• AA Sequence of Recombinant Protein:

• Preparation:
  Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human RANTES (CCL5). The antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and biotinylated.

• Sandwich ELISA:
  To detect hRANTES by sandwich ELISA (100 µL/well antibody solution), use 0.25–1.0 µg/mL. In conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human RANTES (500-P36) as the capture antibody, this biotinylated antibody detects at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of recombinant hRANTES.

• Western Blot:
  Use 0.1–0.2 µg/mL to detect hRANTES. With compatible secondary reagents, detection limit is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.

• Packaging:
  500-P36BT-1MG is provided as 2 × 500 µg.

Target Information

CCL5 (RANTES) is a chemokine gene located on chromosome 17q. It belongs to the CC chemokine subfamily and plays a key role in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. CCL5 acts as a chemoattractant for blood monocytes, memory T helper cells, and eosinophils, induces histamine release from basophils, and activates eosinophils. It is also a major HIV-suppressive factor produced by CD8+ cells, functioning as a natural ligand for CCR5 and suppressing replication of R5 strains of HIV-1. Alternative splicing leads to multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. Related diseases include Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1 and Periapical Granuloma.
