Preparation:
Produced from sera of goats immunized with highly pure Recombinant Murine M-CSF. Anti-Murine M-CSF-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Murine M-CSF matrix.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Murine M-CSF by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.5–2.0 µg/mL is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Murine M-CSF (500-P62GBt) as a detection antibody, allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Murine M-CSF.

Western Blot:
To detect Murine M-CSF by Western Blot analysis, use at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. When used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Murine M-CSF is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

M-CSF (Macrophage colony-stimulating factor, CSF-1) is a survival factor essential for the proliferation and development of monocytes, macrophages, and osteoclast progenitor cells. It also induces VEGF secretion by macrophages, promoting endothelial progenitor cell mobilization and neovascularization.
M-CSF exists as several bioactive isoforms differing in potency and stability, synthesized as a membrane-spanning protein that can be surface-expressed or secreted. The protein forms a disulfide-bonded homodimer processed into glycoprotein or proteoglycan isoforms modified by chondroitin sulfate addition.
Binding to its receptor c-Fms (CSF-1R or CD115) triggers receptor dimerization, internalization, and degradation. Functionally, M-CSF stimulates differentiation of hematopoietic stem cells into monocyte-macrophage populations. Human M-CSF shows activity on mouse cells, while mouse CSF shows no activity on human cells.
