Product Specific Information

The 53-2.1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD90.2 (Thy-1.2), a GPI-linked membrane molecule expressed by mouse thymocytes, mature T cells, and neurons in CD90.2-expressing strains (e.g., BALB/c, CBA, C3H, C57BL/6, C58/, SJL). Cells from CD90.1-expressing strains (e.g., PL, AKR) do not stain with 53-2.1.
CD90 is involved in T cell adhesion and signal transduction regulation.

Target Information

CD90.2 (Thy-1) is a GPI-linked glycoprotein and a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is expressed in murine T cells, thymocytes, neural cells, Kupffer’s cells, and fibroblasts.
Thy-1 plays roles in cell-cell interactions during synaptogenesis and other neuronal events.
CD90.2 (18 kDa) is found in hematopoietic cells, neurons, connective tissue, fibroblasts, stromal cell lines, and tumor endothelial cells. In mice, it is expressed on all thymocytes and peripheral T lymphocytes.
