Product Specific Information

The eBio5E10 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD90 (Thy-1), a 25–35 kD receptor expressed on thymocytes, CD34⁺ prothymocytes, hematopoietic stem cells, neurons, and subsets of fetal liver, cord blood, and bone marrow cells.
CD90 is involved in regulation of adhesion and signal transduction by T cells.
The CD90⁺CD34⁺ population is enriched for cells capable of long-term culture.

Applications Reported:
This antibody is reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometry using human erythroleukemia (HEL) cells.
Recommended use: 5 µL (1 µg) per test (final volume 100 µL).
Cell number range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Target Information

CD90 (Thy-1) antigen is a GPI-linked glycoprotein of the Immunoglobulin superfamily.
It is expressed in murine T cells, thymocytes, neural cells, Kupffer’s cells, and fibroblasts, and may play a role in cell-cell or cell-ligand interactions during synaptogenesis and other brain events.
CD90 serves as a marker for various stem cells and neuronal axonal processes.
Structural studies of CD90 contributed to the identification of the Immunoglobulin superfamily and the first biochemical description of a vertebrate GPI anchor.
Dysfunction of CD90 has been associated with nasopharyngeal carcinoma and thymoma.
