For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, it is recommended to perform desalting (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
The SERPINB6 gene encodes a member of the serpin superfamily and the ovalbumin-serpin subfamily. Initially identified as a placental thrombin inhibitor, its mouse homolog is expressed in the hair cells of the inner ear.
Mutations in this gene are linked to nonsyndromic progressive hearing loss, indicating its role in protecting inner ear cells from lysosomal leakage during stress. Loss of this function can lead to cell death and sensorineural hearing loss.
Alternative splicing variants have been identified for this gene.
