Target Information
BCL-2는 세포 사멸(apoptosis)을 조절하는 주요 단백질로, 세포 사멸을 억제하거나 촉진하는 기능을 수행합니다. BCL-2 패밀리 단백질은 서로 이합체를 형성하여 세포 사멸 조절 기능을 강화하거나 억제합니다. 예를 들어, Bag1은 BCL-2와 헤테로다이머를 형성하여 항세포사멸 효과를 강화하며, Bax와 Bak은 미토콘드리아로부터 사이토크롬 c 방출을 유도하여 세포 사멸을 개시합니다.
BCL-2의 지속적인 발현은 여포성 림프종과 같은 암 발생의 원인으로 알려져 있으며, BCL-2의 과발현은 B세포 림프종 및 전립선암 등 다양한 암종과 관련이 있습니다. 두 가지 전사 변이체가 존재하며, C-말단 서열이 상이합니다.
