Product Specific Information
The RPA-T8 monoclonal antibody reacts with the human CD8a molecule, a 32–34 kDa cell surface receptor expressed as CD8α/β heterodimer or CD8α/α homodimer. CD8a is found on thymocytes, mature T cells, and NK cells, binding MHC class I and associating with protein tyrosine kinase p56lck to regulate T-cell development and activation.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-diluted and tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells. Use at 5 µL (0.5 µg) per test (100 µL final volume).
Cell number range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.
Brilliant Violet™ 786 (BV786):
- Tandem dye emitting at 786 nm
- Compatible with violet (405 nm) laser
- Protect from light (photo-oxidation sensitive)
- Not compatible with methanol-based fixation
Recommended Buffers:
Use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401-42) or Brilliant Stain Buffer™ (Product # 00-4409-75) to minimize non-specific polymer interactions.
Fixation:
Samples can be stored up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark using IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333-54) with minimal impact on brightness and FRET efficiency.

Target Information
Cluster of differentiation 8 (CD8) is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin family, critical for T-cell signal transduction, differentiation, and activation. CD8 acts as a co-receptor for MHC class I molecules, facilitating cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) activation and pathogen or tumor cell clearance. Expressed on T cells, NK cells, monocytes, and dendritic cells as CD8α/β heterodimer or CD8α homodimer.
