Product Specific Information

The G8.8 monoclonal antibody reacts with the 40 kDa mouse EpCAM (epithelial cellular adhesion molecule), also known as EGP40, 17-1A antigen, TACSTD1, and CD326.
The immunogen used was the TE-71 thymic epithelial cell line. CD326 is expressed on most epithelial cells and considered a pan-carcinoma antigen. It mediates calcium-independent, homophilic cell-cell adhesion and may act as a growth factor receptor.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Tested on TE-71 cell line at ≤0.25 µg/test. Recommended careful titration for optimal performance.

Super Bright 600 is a tandem dye excited at 405 nm and emits at 600 nm. Recommended bandpass filter: 610/20. Ensure instrument compatibility.

When using multiple Super Bright dye-conjugated antibodies, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) to minimize polymer interactions.

Light sensitivity: Protect vial and samples from light.
Fixation: Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark.

Target Information

Ep-CAM (epithelial adhesion molecule, ESA) is a transmembrane glycoprotein (~40 kDa) expressed in epithelial cells. It mediates Ca²⁺-independent homotypic adhesion and influences cell cycle, proliferation, and metabolism through c-myc, cyclin A, and E induction.
Ep-CAM overexpression is associated with enhanced epithelial proliferation and is highly expressed in human carcinomas, serving as a marker for epithelial lineage tumors. It distinguishes adenocarcinomas from pleural mesotheliomas.
