Target Information
SPACA3 (sperm acrosome associated 3), also known as sperm lysozyme-like protein 1, lysozyme-like protein 3, or LYZL3, is a 215-amino-acid protein involved in sperm-egg plasma membrane adhesion and fusion during fertilization. It is identified as a cancer/testis antigen (CT54) expressed in testis, placenta, and epididymis, and may serve as a potential target for immunotherapy. SPACA3 exists as two alternatively spliced isoforms: isoform 1 (a single-pass type II membrane protein) and isoform 2 (a secreted protein). The processed form shows no detectable bacteriolytic activity in vitro.
