PLAC1은 원래 태반 및 배아 발달 중 영양막 계통에서 특이적으로 발현되는 단백질로 확인되었으며, 이후 다양한 인간 악성 종양, 특히 유방암에서 이소성 발현이 보고되었습니다.
PLAC1은 막 관련 단백질로, 모체-태반 접합부에서 세포 간 상호작용을 조절하는 수용체 유사 기능을 수행하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
PLAC1 발현 감소는 cyclin D1 및 AKT kinase 발현 감소와 관련이 있으며, 암세포 표면에서 발현되므로 면역치료 연구의 유망한 타깃으로 평가됩니다.
