Target Information

ELL is an elongation factor component of the super elongation complex (SEC), which enhances RNA polymerase II transcription by suppressing transient pausing along DNA.
It is also part of the little elongation complex (LEC), regulating snRNA gene transcription by RNA polymerase II and III (PubMed:22195968, PubMed:23932780).
ELL plays an early role before SEC assembly by stabilizing RNA polymerase II recruitment and facilitating entry into the pause site, contributing to pre-initiation complex stability and early elongation.
