Target Information

ELL is an elongation factor component of the super elongation complex (SEC), required to increase the catalytic rate of RNA polymerase II transcription by suppressing transient pausing.
It also functions in the little elongation complex (LEC), which regulates small nuclear RNA (snRNA) gene transcription by RNA polymerase II and III.
ELL plays an early role in stabilizing RNA polymerase II recruitment/initiation and is required to stabilize the pre-initiation complex and early elongation.
