Target Information
MET (cMET) is a receptor-like tyrosine kinase whose dysregulation is associated with various human malignancies. Upon ligand activation, MET interacts with PI3-kinase subunit PIK3R1, PLCG1, SRC, GRB2, and STAT3, leading to activation of signaling cascades such as RAS-ERK, PI3K-AKT, and PLCγ-PKC.
MET is involved in embryonic development (gastrulation, muscle and neuron development, angiogenesis, kidney formation) and adult processes (wound healing, organ regeneration, tissue remodeling).
Aberrant MET signaling has been linked to cancers including gastric, renal, and breast, making it a key target for cancer therapeutics and diagnostics.
