Target Information
PRDM2는 nuclear/histone methyltransferase superfamily에 속하며, N-terminal PR domain, Rb-binding motif, 8개의 Kruppel-like zinc finger motif, nuclear hormone-receptor binding motif, 그리고 C-terminal PR-domain binding motif를 포함합니다.
PRDM2는 낮은 수준으로 광범위하게 발현되며, PR-domain을 포함한 280 kDa RIZ1 isoform과 PR-domain이 결여된 250 kDa RIZ2 isoform 두 가지 형태로 존재합니다.
세포 성장 및 분화에 중요한 역할을 하는 종양 억제 단백질로, Retinoblastoma protein, estrogen receptor, GATA-3, Heme-oxygenase-1 gene의 TPA-responsive element(MTE)에 결합합니다.
PRDM2는 Retinoblastoma의 병인, 신경 분화 중의 전사 조절, Heme-oxygenase-1 유전자 활성화, 에스트로겐 작용의 특이적 효과 등 다양한 생물학적 과정에 관여합니다.
많은 암 유형에서 돌연변이 및 과메틸화로 인해 비활성화되거나 변형되어 잠재적 바이오마커로 연구되고 있습니다.
