이 유전자는 염색체 17의 유사 유전자 클러스터 내에 위치하며, 두 개의 인접한 시스테인을 특징으로 하는 CC 사이토카인을 암호화합니다. 해당 단백질은 T 세포 및 단핵구에 대한 화학주성을 가지며, CCR1 수용체를 통해 작용합니다. 전구 단백질은 여러 작은 기능성 펩타이드로 처리되며, CCL14 유전자와의 자연적 readthrough 전사체도 존재합니다.
