Product Specific Information
- 1 µg/mL of MA5-27709 was sufficient for detection of Clcn3 in 20 µg of rat brain membrane lysate by colorimetric immunoblot using goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as secondary antibody.
- Detects approximately 90 kDa.
- Does not cross-react with Clcn4 or Clcn5 (based on KO validation results).
- This antibody was formerly sold as clone S258-5.
Target Information
CLCN3 mediates the exchange of chloride ions against protons, functioning as an antiporter contributing to acidification of endosomes and synaptic vesicle lumens. It may influence vesicle trafficking and exocytosis, and play an important role in neuronal cell function by regulating membrane excitability via protein kinase C, potentially contributing to short-term memory formation.
