Product Specific Information

  • 1 µg/mL of MA5-27716 detects Cav1.3 in 10 µg of rat brain lysate by colorimetric immunoblot using Goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as secondary antibody.
  • Detects approximately 250 kDa.
  • No cross-reactivity against Cav1.2.

Target Information

CACNA1D (also known as PASNA, SANDD, or Cav1.3) encodes the alpha-1D subunit of voltage-dependent calcium channels. These channels mediate calcium ion entry into excitable cells and are involved in muscle contraction, hormone or neurotransmitter release, and gene expression.
Calcium channels are multisubunit complexes composed of alpha-1, beta, alpha-2/delta, and gamma subunits. The alpha-1 subunit forms the pore and determines channel properties. Multiple alpha-1 isoforms (A, B, C, D, E, and S) define the characteristics of each channel type.
Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for CACNA1D.
