MA5-17070 targets E2F1 in FACS, IHC, indirect ELISA, and WB applications and shows reactivity with Human and Mouse samples.
The immunogen is a purified recombinant fragment of human E2F1 (amino acids 69–223) expressed in E. coli.
MA5-17070 detects E2F1, which has a predicted molecular weight of approximately 46.9 kDa.

Target Information

The E2F1 protein is a member of the E2F family of transcription factors, which play a crucial role in cell cycle control and the action of tumor suppressor proteins.
E2F proteins contain conserved domains including:

  • DNA binding domain
  • Dimerization domain (interacts with DP proteins)
  • Transactivation domain enriched in acidic amino acids
  • Tumor suppressor protein association domain (within transactivation domain)

E2F1, along with E2F2 and E2F3, possesses an additional cyclin-binding domain.
It binds preferentially to retinoblastoma protein (pRB) in a cell-cycle dependent manner and can mediate both cell proliferation and p53-dependent or independent apoptosis.
