Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional round of desalting using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
CD146 (MCAM) is an integral membrane glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is expressed at cell-cell junctions in endothelial cells and other normal and malignant cell types.
CD146 functions as a calcium-independent adhesion molecule and may participate in signal transduction by recruiting Fyn kinase and promoting tyrosine phosphorylation of cytoskeletal proteins.
It plays a crucial role in endothelial cohesion, melanoma metastasis, and neural crest cell adhesion during embryonic development.
CD146 also acts as a surface receptor triggering tyrosine phosphorylation of FYN and PTK2, leading to transient intracellular calcium increases.
