MAPKAPK2 (MAPK-activated protein kinase 2)는 p38 및 ERK 신호전달 경로를 매개하며, 스트레스 및 염증 반응, 핵 내 수출, 유전자 발현 조절, 세포 증식 등 다양한 세포 과정에 관여합니다.
이 단백질은 Ser/Thr protein kinase 계열에 속하며, p38 MAP kinase에 의해 직접 인산화되어 조절됩니다.
또한, heat shock protein HSP27이 이 키나아제의 기질 중 하나로 알려져 있습니다.
MAPKAPK2 유전자는 두 가지 서로 다른 아이소폼을 암호화하는 두 개의 전사 변이체를 가집니다.
