Product Specific Information
- In sandwich ELISAs, less than 6% cross-reactivity with recombinant human Dkk-1 and less than 0.1% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse Dkk-2, Dkk-3, and Dkk-4 is observed.
- Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Target Information
DKK-1 is a member of the DKK protein family, which includes DKK-2, DKK-3, and DKK-4.
It was originally identified as a Xenopus head-forming molecule that acts as an antagonist for Wnt signaling.
DKK-1 and DKK-4 play regulatory roles in the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway by forming inhibitory complexes with LRP5 and LRP6, which are co-receptors for Wnt ligands.
By inhibiting Wnt/β-catenin signaling, DKK-1 permits anterior development.
Mice deficient in DKK-1 expression lack head formation and die during embryogenesis.
