Reconstitution: Add 50 µL of double distilled water (DDW), depending on sample size.
The antibody ships as a lyophilized powder at room temperature. Upon arrival, store at -20°C.
Reconstituted solution can be stored at 4°C for up to 1 week. For longer storage, aliquot and store at -20°C.
Avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge all antibody preparations before use (10,000 × g, 5 min).

Target Information

Sortilin functions as a sorting receptor in the Golgi compartment and as a clearance receptor on the cell surface.
It is required for protein transport from the Golgi apparatus to lysosomes via a pathway independent of the mannose-6-phosphate receptor (M6PR), and also for transport to endosomes.
Sortilin promotes neuronal apoptosis by mediating endocytosis of proapoptotic precursor forms of BDNF (proBDNF) and NGFB (proNGFB).
Additionally, Sortilin acts as a receptor for neurotensin.
