Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional round of desalting (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

The inositol hexakisphosphate kinase family members IP6K1 and IP6K2 have high affinity and selectivity for inositol hexakisphosphate (InsP6) as a substrate, converting InsP6 to PP-InsP5.
Neither kinase shows catalytic activity with other inositol pyrophosphates. InsP6 inhibits serine/threonine protein phosphatases and increases calcium influx across the plasma membrane, suggesting a role in insulin exocytosis regulation.
IP6K1 was purified as a 54 kDa protein in rat brain extracts; by homology, IP6K1 and IP6K2 were characterized in mouse as 50 kDa and 49 kDa proteins, respectively. IP6K1 also displays ATP synthase activity, transferring a phosphate from PP-InsP5 to ADP, indicating a potential role as high-energy phosphate donors.
