Product Specific Information
The monoclonal antibody RDP4ND4 recognizes human interferon regulatory factor 7 (IRF7), a 54 kDa transcription factor essential for antiviral innate immune responses and activation of type I IFN genes.
IRF7 is constitutively expressed in plasmacytoid dendritic cells, B cells, and monocytes, and is strongly induced upon viral infection or interferon stimulation.
IRF7 activates IFN-beta and IFN-alpha genes via both MyD88-dependent and independent pathways. Upon virus exposure, IRF7 is induced through TLR7, TLR8, and TLR9, promoting IFN gene expression. Phosphorylation triggers IRF7 dimerization and nuclear translocation, leading to activation of target genes. The IRF7 gene is upregulated by interferon stimulation via the Jak-STAT pathway.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-diluted and tested by flow cytometric analysis of stimulated normal human peripheral blood cells using the Foxp3/Transcription Factor Staining Buffer Set (Product #00-5523-00) and protocol.
Recommended use: 5 µL (0.06 µg) per test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).
Excitation: 633–647 nm; Emission: 668 nm; Laser: Red Laser.
Target Information
Interferons (IFNs) regulate innate and adaptive antiviral mechanisms. During infection, host-virus interactions activate transcription factors such as IRF3 and IRF7, which stimulate transcription of IFN-α/β genes.
IRF7 interacts with TLR adaptor proteins MyD88 and TIRP/TRAM, functioning in TLR4 and TLR9 signaling pathways.
Multiple spliced isoforms of IRF7 exist, though their specific functions are not fully defined.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
