PA1-983B-HRP detects His-tagged proteins in Western Blot applications.
Target Information
The 6x His tag is a synthetic oligopeptide consisting of six consecutive histidine residues (HHHHHH).
This tag is commonly expressed at either the N- or C-terminal region of recombinant proteins to enable purification via immobilized metal affinity chromatography (IMAC).
Epitope tagging allows detection of recombinant proteins for which specific antibodies are unavailable.
His-tagged proteins can be purified by metal chelate chromatography due to the strong and selective chelation between histidine clusters and metal ions such as Ni²⁺.
His tag-specific antibodies facilitate detection and co-immunoprecipitation of tagged proteins.
